Feng
Shui has developed through the centuries into various schools, or
traditions. The Black Sect Tantric Buddhism school of Feng Shui
originated in Tibet. Today, its enduring benefits have resulted
in widespread acceptance in the Western world, where it was introduced
by Grand
Master Thomas Lin-Yun. Recently, Professor Lin was featured
in the popular PBS documentary Feng Shui:
Creating Environments for Success and Well Being.
Some distinguishing
characteristics of Black Sect Feng Shui are:
1] The integration
of perspectives from psychology, spirituality, architecture, aesthetics
and more.
2]
The use of both visible [mundane] and invisible [transcendental,
or intuitive] factors in evaluating the flow of chi [life force
energy].
3]
The use of a diagram called the Bagua to identify nine major life
areas of a space -
• Career
• Knowledge / Wisdom
• Family
• Prosperity
• Fame / Reputation
• Marriage / Relationships
• Children / Creativity
• Helpful People / Travel
• Health
Each area combines an element - Water, Wood, Fire, Metal or Earth
- with various shapes and colors to bring harmony to your life and
surroundings.
4] Traditional
observance of the Red Envelope
ritual.
