what happens during a consultation?
As soon as I drive up to your site, I am making mental notes of what I see. I find that it is best to observe the exterior first. Many components such as oncoming streets, large electrical transformers and poison arrows are impacting your location. It is important to get a macro view of the site before delving into the micro aspects. During this time I can discover the shape of the lot, the shape of the home and make a note of any missing areas in both.
The placement of each room is very important, so that is what I explore next. The location of the bathrooms, the kitchen, the master and guest rooms are all full of vital information.
Doors are also a key indicator of the flow of energy. Where is the front door, is it used as the front door, do any doors bang into each other, do any align negatively? All of these questions need answers, and so I make note of the door placement and energy flow within your space. I explore one room and one floor at a time until we are complete.
Throughout the consultation I am making a digital audio recording of my observations and recommendations. I also suggest that all my clients take notes. One organic cotton, "I've Been Feng Schwayed!" t-shirt is included with each 2-hour consultation. You will need to pick your style and size prior to my arrival.
how long does a consultation take?
The length of a consultation is directly related to the size of the location of the space, but a typical consultation takes 2 hours.
does my house need to be spotlessly clean for my consultation?
Absolutely not! I’ve consulted in homes that have had everything perfectly cleaned and tidy and some where the rooms were so messy that the carpet was not visible. The items that you surround yourself with will tell me just as much as the way you keep those items around you. Remember, your home is an external expression of your internal life. It doesn’t matter if it is messy or tidy, you will still benefit and may even be surprised by the connections you have to each way of being.
can you feng shui an empty house?
Absolutely! In fact, in many cases this is preferable, especially when an owner is carrying two mortgages while waiting for one home to sell, or has already been transferred to another state for work.
